Top WWE Raw Star Makes Surprise SmackDown Appearance

Nick Aldis Adam Pearce WWE SmackDown

Cody Rhodes is not one-half of the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions anymore but it still seems that he goes where he wants, when he wants.

Roman Reigns sent down his orders to Jimmy Uso that he did not want Rhodes and Jey Uso to be able to appear on SmackDown as the WWE Tag Team Champions. As a result, Jimmy Uso cost them the championship, handing the win to The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Damian Priest.

Despite that, Cody Rhodes may well be using his experience as an EVP to make moves behind the scenes and get things done. The American Nightmare was behind the move that took Jey Uso to Raw with Kevin Owens eventually heading to SmackDown as a result – breaking up his partnership with Sami Zayn in the process.

Cody Rhodes Makes Presence Felt On WWE SmackDown

On SmackDown in Evansville, Indiana, Cody Rhodes was seen backstage with the blue brand’s General Manager Nick Aldis while Damage CTRL pontificated about their WarGames challenge earlier in the night. Later in the night, Rhodes came out of the shadows as LA Knight was on the end of a two-on-one attack by Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa.

Cody Rhodes could have been on the hunt for a fifth partner for his WarGames match at Survivor Series and his business with Aldis could well have seen him asking permission to have Knight on his team. However, reports suggest WWE has a major return in mind for WarGames that would complete Rhodes’ squad.
