One of the biggest stars in WWE is dealing with an injury that could change WrestleMania 41 plans.

The injury bug has already changed one WrestleMania 41 match because Kevin Owens will no longer be facing Randy Orton due to Owens suffering a serious neck injury that will require surgery.

While Owens is likely going to be on the sidelines for the rest of this year and likely early into 2026, it’s unknown if Orton will be in a match at WrestleMania 41.

During a backstage attack on WWE SmackDown on March 28th, Damian Priest attacked Drew McIntyre as payback for past attacks by McIntyre. Priest slammed McIntyre back first onto a car windshield.

McIntyre and Priest were featured the next week in promo segments on WWE SmackDown, and McIntyre had a patch on his right eye because he legitimately had glass go into his eye. McIntyre has also posted photos on social media about seeing an eye doctor to treat his injury.

Could Drew McIntyre Really Miss WWE WrestleMania 41?

Damian Priest ended his WWE SmackDown in Chicago promo by telling Drew McIntyre to stop playing the victim and for McIntyre to be his victim at WrestleMania. The match hasn’t been announced for WrestleMania 41 yet, and it’s likely due to McIntyre’s eye situation.

In an interview with Rebecca Lowe and Gary Neville on It’s Called Soccer, McIntyre talked about the glass going into his eye and how it could alter his WrestleMania plans.

“Part of the glass, where I landed on the windshield, bounced up and landed directly in my eyeball, I’m currently sporting the patch, hoping I can figure this thing out and get myself on WrestleMania. It’s a fight against time right now. It didn’t feel that bad.

I’ve never landed on a windshield in my life. He probably should’ve thrown me on top of the car or the concrete to hurt more. I’ve never landed on a windshield, but the glass is designed to spider out. I was wearing a leather jacket so thankfully I didn’t get all cut up.

The fall wasn’t great, but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Some debris came up in the air and landed straight in my eye, so I’m dealing with that right now.

“The eye thing wasn’t supposed to happen. I’m not supposed to be sitting here right now with an eyepatch on, yet, I am.”

WrestleMania 41 is expected to have 14 or 15 matches, with McIntyre facing Priest in one of those matches, but it’s not official yet.
