Top TNA Star Wants To Face Kazuchika Okada
The great Kazuchika Okada is drawing interest from wrestling promotions all around the world and one top name in TNA wants a match with the NJPW legend.
There’s a huge match set to air on TNA Impact Wrestling this Thursday, January 25th as former IWGP World Champion Kazuchika Okada returns to TNA to team with the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) against TNA World Champion Moose, Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers. The match was already taped.
Moose has wrestled Okada in the past at Ring of Honor’s 14th Anniversary Show in 2016 with Okada picking up the win. At the time, Okada was well-established as one of the best wrestlers alive while Moose was still early in his pro wrestling career.
In an interview with with Denise Salcedo, TNA World Champion Moose expressed an interest in having a singles match against Okada again.
“The first one that comes to mind, he’s not a full-time guy in our company, but we had a preview at the tapings in Vegas. It’s Okada. He’s a guy I would like to have another one-on-one match with. It’s been six years since I had a one-on-one match with him. I was a kid.”
“Actually, it’s longer than six years, it was nine years ago. I was one year into wrestling when I had a singles match with Okada. I was a kid in wrestling. I would like to have another one-on-one match now that I’m an adult in wrestling and I would like to see how that plays out.”
Kazuchika Okada Is Ready To Move On
After an incredible run in New Japan Pro Wrestling as one of the best wrestlers in the world, Kazuchika Okada is ready to explore other options. It is rumored that WWE and AEW covet the former IWGP World Champion while recent reports claim he is undecided at this point.
Kazuchika Okada recently explained why he’s ready to move on.
“After announcing that I was quitting and going on the tour…I felt too comfortable. I wondered what that would be like. I started my wrestling career in Mexico, came to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and became a rainmaker 12 years later. Maybe if I stay here, I can wrestle without any inconvenience.”
“But I don’t want to become the same Kazuchika Okada without such hunger. I don’t want to be in a situation where I have to rest on my laurels. If I were “human” Okada, I would have friends here, and I would be in the best environment. But as “wrestler” Okada, it was different.”
