Top Star Named “True WWE Champion”

Triple H WWE

For one WWE star, it’s a case of no Cody Rhodes, no problem.

Kevin Owens might not have left Saturday Night’s Main Event as the Undisputed WWE Champion, but that doesn’t mean he walked out totally empty-handed.

In the show’s main event, Owens lost out to Rhodes, but he quickly got revenge, hitting the champion with a Package Piledriver after the special went off the air. After Rhodes was taken away on a stretcher, Owens was confronted by Triple H as he made his backstage and an angry shoving match ensued.

No matter, KO still had the legendary Winged Eagle World Title belt in his possession.

With Cody Rhodes diagnosed with a list of spinal injuries, Owens is looking to step up and take his place and the year comes to a close.

In a post on social media, Owens shared a list of upcoming appearances while declaring himself the “new, true WWE Champion.”

BALLZ!!!

Now that I have your attention, I have great news for you all! I am proud to officially announce that I will be competing in my first matches as your new, true WWE Champion on this year’s Holiday loop (that’s a term people in “the business” use that refers to a string of consecutive shows in different cities over a short period of time) starting in Jacksonville on the 26th, followed by 3 more shows in Florida and then one in Detroit for some reason.

Be there to witness history!

Oh, the Raw crew has shows too. Whatever.

Kevin Owens Keeping Fans Guessing On WWE Future

Meanwhile, Kevin Owens has hinted that his WWE future is anything but secure when looking ahead to 2025.

During an interview where he discussed the company’s pre-WrestleMania tour of Europe, Owens said nothing had been sorted regarding his own involvement. Owens has previously confirmed that his current contract expires in January.

Despite those comments and earlier claims that an agreement is yet to be reached, a report in October claimed Kevin Owens had secretly signed a new contract.
