Top NXT Star Has “A Lot Of Trust From The Right People” In WWE

Whilst detailing his main objective when he competes, a top NXT star has made it clear that “the right people” trust him to pull it off.

It takes a lot of tools to make it to the top in the professional wrestling world, and whilst having a well-honed moveset is obviously a key part, it’s also the ability to tell the story required and gain garner emotions from the crowd.

One man who puts a lot of focus on this is Ilja Dragunov. In a discussion with Busted Open Radio, the former NXT United Kingdom Champion said he’s grateful for the trust he’s being given from certain decision makers in the brand, whilst discussing his goal each time he heads to the squared circle.

I wouldn’t say there is anything specific because I have always felt that I’ve had a lot of trust from the right people and I really appreciate that and have so much gratitude for that. Once I really think of something, and something I’ve had the opportunity to do, is to focus on the main thing of storytelling.

My whole objective, everything I think about is, not like the performance art of this business, but focusing moments so much on one emotion, one meaning, and going from there, step by step, this is something I truly develop in every match. Without that, no match will ever captivate the audience.

Dragunov Wins Big In NXT

On the most recent edition of NXT, Ilja Dragunov picked up a big victory in his match with Wes Lee.

As a result of the win, Dragunov will go on to face Carmelo Hayes at No Mercy, where the NXT Championship will be on the line.
