Top NXT Star Has Serious Doubts Over WWE Main Roster Future
A rising star on the WWE NXT is unsure about his main roster future.
Je’Von Evans represents the future of WWE as a 21-year-old with a bright future and the potential to be a future WrestleMania main event.
When Evans faced Sami Zayn for the US Title on WWE SmackDown on September 26th, he nearly won the US Title a few times during the match. More importantly, he earned a lot of fans and the respect of a main event performer like Zayn.
The super athletic Evans has been very busy since he also competed at TNA Bound for Glory against their talented 21-year-old Leon Slater, who is the X-Division Champion. The Evans/Slater match was incredible and had the crowd in awe, but it also ended without a winner when Darkstate attacked both guys.
While Evans is somebody who WWE could build around in the future, he knows he has plenty of time and told the Black Rasslin’ Podcast that he’s not sure about a main roster run.
“Honestly I’m not sure. I feel like I can accomplish so much more. There was talks but I was just like, to this day I don’t know if I’m ready. And maybe that’s self doubt a little bit or me being nervous.
But I just know that Triple H, Nick Aldis, they know what they’re doing. Shawn knows what he’s doing. So if they see something and they feel I’m ready then let’s catch the football and run with it.”
Je’Von Evans Wants To Keep Learning In WWE NXT
As he continued, Je’Von Evans went on to stress the importance of continuing to learn in WWE and NXT.
“I think that I just want to learn as much as I can in NXT. My main goal is being the best ever in wrestling. So I feel like in NXT that’s where it starts.
So I wanna learn as much as I can in NXT so by the time I get to Raw or SmackDown it’s an easy transition, I know what I know and I’m automatically up there with the top dogs and prove myself that I can hang with the top dogs.”
Big goals for Je’Von Evans, but when you are as talented as he is, it’s easy to see why he would have them.
