A high-profile free agent has found a new home in AEW.

On the January 3rd episode of AEW Dynamite, Mariah May made her long-awaited in-ring debut after signing with the company back in November. As she continues to crave the attention of Timeless Toni Storm, May took on Queen Aminata and picked up the win following May Day.

May was soon joined in the ring by Renee Paquette who interviewed the star about her victory. The former Stardom standout said she hoped Storm was watching her match, and that 2024 would be her year, the only negative being that she had to get it started in New Jersey.

This comment brought out former IMPACT Wrestling star and New Jersey native, Deonna Purrazzo. The star quickly shot down May, telling her to send a message to Storm, warning that she’s All Elite and AEW is now entering the Age of the Virtuosa.

May told Purrazzo to go and tell Storm herself and slapped her, but she was quickly on the retreat after Purrazzo hit back.

After becoming a free agent, it came to light that Purrazzo had spoken to WWE, although AEW was known to be her favoured destination. Purrazzo actually wrestled on Dynamite back in May 2022 while she was under contract with IMPACT.

Mercedes Mone Expected To Join Deonna Purrazzo In AEW

After months of speculation, Tony Khan appears to be on the verge of signing Mercedes Mone. The star has been linked with a move ever since she left WWE in May 2022, and a deal appeared to be a slam dunk when Mone was shown in the crowd at All In.

However, the story went quiet and Mone entered into talks with WWE, but it was recently reported that a deal was unable to be reached. Furthermore, Mone had been back in discussions with AEW, with the Tony Khan-led promotion now appearing in pole position to land her signature.
