Top AEW Star Set For Major Gimmick Overhaul
After turning heel at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Jack Perry is reportedly set for massive changes in his presentation.
Forbidden Door saw Jack Perry take on SANADA in an attempt to become IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. Perry came up short, but he still managed to make waves after the bout when he attacked his tag team partner HOOK on the ramp, turning heel for the first time in his AEW career. Taz was outraged about the attack on his son, and Perry disrespectfully threw down the FTW Championship beside his fallen former partner.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, Perry is in for a major presentation change following his heel turn. Not only will he take on a new persona to go along with his new villainous role, his theme music is also set for a change.
As Jungle Boy, Jack Perry began using Baltimora’s Tarzan Boy as his theme tune in 2021 when Tony Khan secured the rights to the song. Prior to that, he and his fellow Jurassic Express members used a different theme tune. There is currently no word on what song is set to replace Tarzan Boy.
While Perry’s heel turn has fans talking, not everyone is fan of the star. One WWE Hall of Famer who wasn’t pleased with Perry’s performance at Forbidden Door was Eric Bischoff, who went so far as to say the star didn’t even belong on the show.
