Top AEW Star Has No Dream Matches, Only Nightmares

Toni Storm & Mariah May AEW Grand Slam Australia

AEW star Toni Storm does not believe in dream matches.

The four-time AEW Women’s Champion has fought the very best the company has to offer since joining Tony Khan’s organisation from WWE in 2021.

The likes of Mariah May, Jamie Hayter and Mina Shirakawa have all squared off against Storm in high profile bouts, with TBS Champion Mercedes Mone the only notable top name not to do battle with the former NXT UK Women’s Champion during her time in All Elite Wrestling.

Whilst many consider Storm vs Mone to be a dream match, that view is not shared by the charismatic Auckland, New Zealand-born star. During a recent interview with ‘MuscleManMalcolm‘, Storm scoffed at the suggestion that any match was a dream encounter, noting that there was nothing positive about being kicked in the head:

“I don’t have one. I don’t have a dream opponent. I don’t dream about this anymore. None of this is a dream. This is a f*cking nightmare.

Why do people dream about fighting people? So that I can get in the ring with one of the women and have them kick me in the head. What is so dreamy about this? Dream match baloney.”

AEW Star Set To Rekindle Legendary Rivalry On Dynamite

Top AEW star Kenny Omega is set to do battle with long-time rival Kazuchika Okada for the first time in almost 8 years.

The two top stars enjoyed a legendary rivalry in New Japan Pro Wrestling during 2017 and 2018, squaring off in a number of classic bouts in a feud that is often compared to the likes of Flair vs Steamboat and Hart vs Michaels.

The duo will now share the ring once again after Tony Khan announced a huge eight man tag team match for the 30th April edition of Dynamite.
