Top AEW Star To Wrestle First Indie Match In 13 Years

Tony Khan AEW

A major AEW star will be making a surprising debut in March.

In a post on social media, House of Glory announced that Mone will be making her in-ring debut with the promotion on March 15. There was no word on who the star would be facing.

The match will be Mone’s first on the independent scene since August 2012 when she lost to Ivy Fit while wrestling under the name Mercedes VK at a Connecticut Wrestling Entertainment event.

During this period the star signed with WWE after impressing at a try-out. Mone made her in-ring WWE debut two months later at an NXT live event before being given the name Sasha Banks and taping her first match for TV in November.

Mone has a lengthy history with House of Glory, regularly training with owner Amazing Red ahead of big matches.

Mercedes Mone Could Lead New AEW Faction

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Mercedes Mone could become the face of a new AEW faction.

According to the report, The Renegade Twins were backstage at the January 29 episode of Dynamite, and there’s been talk of an “integration” with Mone. Charlotte and Robyn Renegade have been regularly appearing for AEW and ROH since 2021.

Charlotte missed much of 2024 but returned to the ring in November, while Robyn recently challenged Red Velvet for the ROH Women’s World Television Title.
