Top AEW Star Says Company “More Likely Than Ever” To Work With WWE

Could AEW and WWE really work together?

The professional wrestling landscape is changing almost by the day, with promotions working together across the board like never before. AEW continues to have strong relationships with NJPW, STARDOM, and CMLL, while WWE is working with TNA and the newly formed Marigold promotion, after teaming with All Japan earlier in 2024.

With WWE going where the company has never gone before, some fans have begun to wonder whether the impossible is actually possible. Any kind of joint venture between the sports entertainment giant and AEW still seems a long way away, but Swerve Strickland thinks it’s more likely than ever.

While appearing on the Bootleg Kev Podcast, the AEW World Champion said if a link-up is ever going to happen, now’s the time.

“If there’s ever a time it could happen, now is more likely than it’s ever been.

I don’t think either person is opposed, but if there’s ever a time, as far as Tony Khan and Triple H, I don’t think there’s ever been a time that’s more likely than now.

The percentages went from 0.04 to like, maybe 2.4, and that’s more than we’ve ever gotten.”

WWE’s Relationship With TNA To Continue

TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace made a surprise appearance on the May 28th episode of NXT confronting Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez. It’s since been confirmed the pair will meet at Battleground on June 9th with the NXT Women’s Title on the line.

Interestingly, it’s believed the WWE-TNA crossover isn’t a one-off.

According to a recent report, there’s a feeling there’ll be an NXT presence at TNA Against All Odds on June 14th where Grace will defend her title against an unnamed challenger. There have also been suggestions NXT stars could appear at Slammiversary in July.
