Top AEW Star Close To In-Ring Return
One of AEW’s most popular stars will soon be back in the ring.
Back in April, it was reported that Orange Cassidy was dealing with an undisclosed injury and would be taking time off. Subsequent reports confirmed that he was dealing with a torn labrum, and would be missing several months.
It’s unclear exactly when or how the star suffered the injury, but he hasn’t wrestled since competing in a Four-Way Match against Mike Bailey, Ricochet, and Mark Davis on March 19.
But thankfully, three months later, there’s been some good news.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, Cassidy will be back in the ring “sooner rather than later.” However, there’s no word on exactly when the star will be back on television or his upcoming creative direction.
Will Ospreay Set For Lengthy AEW Absence
While things are looking up for Orange Cassidy, the same can’t be said for a different former International Champion.
Ahead of Forbidden Door, Will Ospreay confirmed that he’s set to undergo neck surgery. In recent weeks, Ospreay has admitted that he’s dealing with two herniated discs that are pressing on his spinal cord, which in turn is causing issues with his nerves.
At the event in London, the British star was written off television following a violent post-match attack.
Following Forbidden Door, Swerve Strickland is also set to undergo surgery on a long-standing knee injury. According to several reports, Strickland has been dealing with a torn meniscus since 2019, when he was working with WWE.
On a similar note, it was recently confirmed by Tony Khan that Jay White will remain absent for a “long time.” White hasn’t wrestled since March 29, and it’s believed he could miss the rest of 2025.
