Tony Schiavone Explains Why Eddie Kingston Makes AEW Better

AEW announcer Tony Schiavone has discussed what it’s like working with Eddie Kingston and why he believes Kingston makes AEW better.

Eddie Kingston burst into AEW back in 2020, answering Cody Rhodes’ open challenge for his TNT Championship. Kingston was unsuccessful in his attempt at winning that gold but in the two-and-a-half years since the proud New Yorker has become one of the most popular stars on the company’s roster. Kingston headlined his first AEW pay-per-view at Full Gear 2020 when he lost to Jon Moxley in a match for the AEW World Title.

At 2022’s Full Gear, Kingston competed on the Buy In, defeating one of his heroes, Japanese legend Jun Akiyama, in a one-on-one bout.

Speaking on What Happened When – courtesy of AdFreeShows – Tony Schiavone explained just what an asset Kingston is to the company:

“Eddie Kingston is the best, the absolute best. I’ve told him this before. I just absolutely love Eddie Kingston. I tell him that we are a better company with you in it. He’ll say, ‘Schiavone, stop saying that’, and I’ll say ‘It’s true because you always give us your very best performance.’”

“He’s another one who loves to do his promos live too instead of pre-tape. Man, I’m so glad I got to know Eddie Kingston. I really am. He is truly, of all the years I’ve done wrestling, one of my favorite guys.”
