Tony Schiavone Explains Why Chris Jericho Is A Great Leader In AEW

Chris Jericho

You can count Tony Schiavone as being a major advocate for what Chris Jericho brings to AEW, calling him a great leader.

Chris Jericho came in to AEW as a flagship competitor for the fledgling organisation, soon becoming the first World Champion and carrying much of the weight of the company on his shoulders. However, over the last few weeks he has had a very different role from being the one with the gold.

In a discussion on the What Happened When podcast, Tony Schaivone discussed how Jericho doing the job for a number of younger stars and still keeping his heat makes him a real leader among the team.

I have so much time for Chris Jericho. What a great leader he is. You know how I know he’s a great leader? He did the job to Action Andretti. Did the job to Ricky Starks. That’s a great leader. I’ll show you how you can lose and still keep your heat.

The Ocho’s last victory on AEW television came back on the 23rd November 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite when he defeated Tomohiro Ishii. Since then he has picked up losses to both ‘Absolute’ Ricky Starks and the debuting Action Andretti.

Chris Jericho also recently shocked fans when he made a surprise appearance at an independent wrestling show, competing in an unannounced 10-man tag team match.
