Tony Nese Excited To Wrestle Different People Following WWE Release
Tony Nese is a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion that is excited about the next chapter of his career as he gets a chance to wrestle some new opponents.
Nese was one of the main guys as part of the WWE cruiserweight division that launched in 2016 following the Cruiserweight Classic tournament. Nese appeared regularly on 205 Live throughout his WWE career. Nese’s WWE career lasted for five years after he, along with other 205 Live wrestlers, was released from their contracts on June 25, 2021.
During his final months in WWE, Nese became an ally of Ariya Daivari calling themselves the “205 Live OGs” where they feuded with newer wrestlers like Ari Sterling, Asher Hale and August Grey.
Nese went on Twitter this week to share his excitement of getting to wrestle some new opponents while also praising some of the guys he wrestled in WWE.
Although the talent I've mixed it up with for the past few years was some of the best talent in the world. I really can't wait to not wrestle the same f'n names every week.

The 36-year-old Nese likely had the standard 90-day non-compete clause as part of his release, which means he would likely be free to wrestle anywhere he wants later this month.
Nese won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship on the Kickoff Show of WrestleMania 35 in New Jersey when he defeated Buddy Murphy, who was also released by WWE. Nese is from the state of New York, so it was a big hometown win for him. Nese’s reign as Cruiserweight Champion lasted 79 days before losing the title to Drew Gulak at Stomping Grounds 2019.
Good luck to Tony Nese with whatever is next for him in his career.
