Tony Khan’s Father Makes Surprise AEW TV Debut
The face of AEW might have changed on Dynamite after Tony Khan reinstated Jack Perry following his long suspension.
Jack Perry had been suspended by AEW following his backstage altercation with CM Punk at All In. CM Punk was fired by the company and for seven months Perry had not appeared in AEW although he did resurface in New Japan Pro Wrestling in January 2024.
Perry made his surprise return to AEW at Dynasty where he helped The Young Bucks defeat FTR to win the AEW Tag Team Championship and he is now firmly part of The Elite.
On Dynamite in Jacksonville, The Young Bucks used their position as EVPs to broker a meeting between Tony Khan and Jack Perry so the AEW boss could officially reinstate Perry to the company but suspicions should have been raised when that meeting took place in the ring.
Tony Khan’s Father Concerned After Shock Attack
After Perry and Tony Khan shook hands on the deal, Perry raised Khan’s hand before delivering a vicious microphone shot into Khan’s gut. The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada raced to the ring wondering what Perry was thinking before The Bucks hoisted Khan up for the recently re-named TK Driver.
The Elite were eventually shouted out of the ring by referees and after they left, many stars of the AEW roster came to the ring showing concern for their boss. Among those who appeared in the ring was Khan’s father Shad Khan. Khan looked concerned for his son as the show went off the air.
