Tony Khan Gives Intriguing Response To WWE WrestleMania Saudi Arabia Question

Tony Khan is planning something spectacular.

On September 12, it was announced that WrestleMania 43 will be held in Saudi Arabia. The move marks the first time that WWE’s most prestigious event will be held outside of North America.

The news quickly sparked all kinds of speculation, including suggestions that The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin could appear on the show in 2027. This included claims that The Rock was already in talks related to the event, which could see him net a monster pay day for competing in the main event.

There’s also been a push from a large section of fans online for Tony Khan and AEW to counter the event with a huge show somewhere in North America. The theory goes that the usual indie events that populate WrestleMania week could then take place in conjunction with the AEW event instead.

Tony Khan Could Look To Counter WrestleMania 43

With those rumours running wild, Tony Khan was asked about building an event to replace WrestleMania in 2027. During the media call ahead of All Out, Khan placed a huge emphasis on AEW’s regular Spring offering, Revolution, promising that fans will see something special.

I have a lot of interest in it, and I can promise we’re gonna run a huge event in the spring of 2027.

I think spring 2027 is gonna be a great time for AEW.

There’s gonna be a huge pay-per-view for sure, and one pay-per-view I can tell you is gonna be huge in spring 2027, that has done huge things for us in AEW, and I think some really historic things in pro-wrestling at AEW Revolution. We’ll have a huge Revolution.

People ask about the spring of 2027. I promise we’ll have a huge AEW Revolution and a lot of big plans for then.

And obviously very focused right now on 2025, that’s looking very far ahead, but there’s definitely some potential for us to do big things in the spring of 2027.”

During the same call, Tony Khan revealed the match that will kick off the All Out main card. Three matches are set to take place on the zero-hour pre-show.
