Tony Khan Thinks WWE Sale Could Be “Big Positive” To All Of Wrestling
Tony Khan has had his say on Endeavor’s takeover of WWE and admitted that he was interested in what happened with that deal.
The entire wrestling world was stunned on the day after WrestleMania 39 when it was announced that WWE was to be acquired by Endeavor and merged into a new company alongside UFC.
Speaking on Maggie and Perloff, Tony Khan had his say on the deal and thinks it could be a positive to the entire pro wrestling business:
“I can’t speak to that except to say that I was interested. It will also be very interesting to see what happens with that sale.
“Certainly, in many ways, it’s a big positive to the pro wrestling business and I think the huge attendance numbers and TV and streaming numbers for pro wrestling and the great sales for AEW on pay-per-view and all the big merchandising numbers show that pro wrestling is really back as an industry in many major ways in 2023 and AEW is a big part of the conversation. That’s all been really positive for us.”
WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff recently had his say on AEW and thinks the company is benefitting from the success of WWE while also calling Khan’s promotion “a well-funded hobby.”
