Tony Khan Would Love To Work With WWE
AEW boss Tony Khan is not shy about working with other promotions but could the day ever come that he holds a show with WWE?
When AEW launched in 2019, it seemed the rest of the wrestling world wasn’t happy with having a new player to contend with but over time some relationships thawed. A change in leadership in New Japan Pro Wrestling led the company to forge a relationship with AEW and Tony Khan’s company has also worked with TNA and AAA in the past but is currently aligned with CMLL and Stardom.
Perhaps in response, WWE under its new ownership has opened up its doors as well and formed a relationship with TNA which is most notable for Joe Hendry appearing in NXT whenever his name is said. WWE also has a relationship with the Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling NOAH which saw AJ Styles recently battle the legendary Naomichi Marufuji. Marufuji is now heading to SummerSlam for a role at WWE’s biggest party of the summer.
But could the ultimate Forbidden Door ever be opened?
Tony Khan Would Love To Work With WWE
Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Tony Khan admitted that he’d love the chance to do a huge supershow with WWE but thinks it would be incredibly challenging for it to ever happen:
I would love if that were possible. I don’t know that it is, but it would be great if it was possible for the fans, I think that would be wonderful.
But there are a lot of challenging business things in the world of pro-wrestling that I think would make that a very challenging thing to do.
Tony Khan also explained what he wants from Bryan Danielson ahead of Danielson bringing his full-time in-ring career to an end later in 2024.
