Tony Khan Will Allegedly Sign Goldberg To AEW

Goldberg WWE

Goldberg wrestled his last match for WWE on July 12, 2025.

Ever since, multiple reports have emerged regarding the former world champion’s future, including a potential signing with AEW.

The 58-year-old has yet to comment on the speculation.

In November last year, it was announced that he would compete in a retirement match, which took place at Saturday Night’s Main Event XL against Gunther.

Unfortunately for the veteran, the result did not go his way after being choked out by the 37-year-old World Heavyweight Champion.

As Gunther looks forward to his next challenge in CM Punk at SummerSlam, the rumor mill keeps churning non-stop with Goldberg.

On the latest episode of the Coach & Bro podcast, former WWE creative writer Vince Russo said what most wrestling fans have been thinking.

Tony Khan’s gonna sign him. Tony Khan is gonna sign Bill Goldberg.

After this, this FTA, and he speaks his mind, and he’s not satisfied with the way things, you know that phone call is coming from Tony. [1:10:17 onwards]

Jim Ross Positive About Goldberg’s Return To Wrestling

Legendary AEW commentator Jim Ross recently discussed Goldberg on his podcast.

While the 73-year-old begrudgingly admitted that fans may have seen the last of the Hall of Fame wrestler, he said that he may be wrong.

I think somewhere down the road… I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Goldberg. I think if it was booked correctly and not overexposed. You dress that match up with the right opponent. Billy could be certainly back in the hunt or something. He’s proven that he draws. He’s a very unique talent, and so I hope that he does more. I really do.

He’s developed into more of a wrestling fan and a student of the game, and I think that’s important, that he’s still learning. He delivered. He did what he’s supposed to do. The bottom line was, you know, protect Goldberg and get Gunther over. And they accomplished both those things.

A jump to AEW by the former champion would come as a shock to the Stamford-based promotion and fans alike. Regardless, whether or not he signs a future wrestling contract remains to be seen.
