What AEW’s Tony Khan Wants From Bryan Danielson After Retirement
AEW boss Tony Khan has commented on Bryan Danielson’s impending retirement from full-time wrestling and admits it will be a sad day for pro wrestling when it happens.
Bryan Danielson is one of AEW’s top signings in its five-year history as the former WWE Champion joined up with Tony Khan’s company in 2021. Since then Danielson has stolen several shows in the company with huge matches against the likes of Adam Page, Kenny Omega, MJF, and Will Ospreay and found a home for himself in the Blackpool Combat Club.
But all good things come to an end and for Bryan Danielson, it will be no different. Danielson has been open about 2024 being his final full-time year as a pro wrestler but he has a chance to go out with a bang as he’ll challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship at All In.
Tony Khan Wants Bryan Danielson For Life
Speaking with The Rich Eisen Show’s TJ Jefferson, Tony Khan was asked about Danielson’s future and admitted it would be a sad day for him when the American Dragon calls it a day on his full-time career:
I can’t say how much time Bryan has left in the ring, but he has said this will be his final year, this is going to be the year Bryan hangs it up from full-time wrestling. At that point it’s going to be a sad day for pro wrestling, and for me personally.
Khan also confirmed that he’s hoping to keep Bryan Danielson in AEW even once his full-time in-ring career is over:
Absolutely. 100 per cent. I hope Bryan will stay here for the rest of his life, and I know he’s planning to stay with us for a long time going forward as part of the company, hopefully. I would want Bryan to stay with us as long as humanly possible.
