Tony Khan Vacates AEW Title
Six championships were on the line at AEW Revolution but after the show, Tony Khan was forced to vacate one of those titles.
Christian Cage kicked off Revolution on pay-per-view by successfully defending his TNT Championship against Daniel Garcia. Eddie Kingston held on to his Continental Crown Championship against Bryan Danielson forcing Danielson to shake his hand after the match.
Roderick Strong realised his goal of becoming the AEW International Champion when he defeated Orange Cassidy. After the match, Roderick Strong was confronted with a blast from his past as one star returned to the company after almost two years away.
Toni Storm kept the AEW Women’s Championship timeless as she defeated Deonna Purrazzo. Samoa Joe tapped out Hangman Adam Page to keep the AEW World Championship as questions remain over if Page tapped because he couldn’t escape or if he did it to ensure Swerve Strickland couldn’t win the title.
Tony Khan Vacates AEW Tag Team Title
The night’s main event saw Sting have the final match of his career as he and Darby Allin took on The Young Bucks with the AEW Tag Team Championship on the line. Sting made Matt Jackson submit to finish his career with one final win ensuring that he remained undefeated in AEW.
With Sting no longer an active wrestler, Tony Khan announced at the post-Revolution media scrum that the AEW Tag Team Championship is now vacant. Khan also confirmed that a tournament will begin at some point in March to crown new AEW Tag Team Champions. No dates or teams have yet been announced for that tournament.
