Tony Khan Trying His Hardest To Keep AEW Star

Tony Khan AEW

Tony Khan is reportedly working hard to keep one particular AEW star on his roster.

In 2023, Tony Khan agreed new deals with The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Hangman Adam Page, Eddie Kingston, Christian Cage, and Rush to name just a few. While the news of the contracts has gone down with AEW’s fanbase, there’s one World Champion-sized elephant in the room when it comes to 2024.

MJF has been talking up the “bidding war in 2024” for well over a year and has been open about his desire to hear what WWE has to offer when his contract expires. To add to the speculation, MJF was recently left out of a press release for All In.

Speaking ahead of his upcoming title defence against Jay White at Full Gear, MJF sat down with Sports Illustrated to discuss his AEW career to date, and his future.

Regarding the end of his contract, the star said his plans remain the same — to go where the money is.

“Tony Khan is definitely trying his hardest to keep me here,” said Friedman. “There are a lot of things about All Elite Wrestling that I like, but there’s also a lot of things about WWE that I like. What I’m most interested in is money.”

Tony Khan Confirms Launch Of New AEW Tournament

On the November 11th episode of AEW Collision, Tony Khan announced the creation of a new tournament.

12 AEW stars will be split into two leagues of six in a round-robin style tournament much like New Japan Pro Wrestling’s famed G1 Climax. The tournament will kick off in Chicago on November 22nd and will continue until an overall winner is crowned at the Worlds End pay-per-view on December 30 in Long Island, New York.
