Tony Khan To WWE – “I Can’t Wait To Finally Beat Your Main Show”

AEW President Tony Khan has laid down the gauntlet to WWE as AEW Rampage and WWE SmackDown prepare to go head-to-head for the first time.

Rampage is the second weekly TV show launched by AEW and has aired on Fridays since it’s debut on TNT on August 13th. The second episode took AEW to new highs as it saw the long-hoped-for return to wrestling for CM Punk after over seven years away from the squared circle. Rampage starts at 10 pm EST which is normally when SmackDown ends on FOX. On October 15th, however, SmackDown is scheduled to have an extra 30mins added to its usual two hours, meaning that the last half hour of the blue brand will go head-to-head with the first half of Rampage.

Tony Khan took to Twitter to let it be known he has no issues with the situation and is actually looking forward to, in his words, “finally beat [WWE’s] main show head-to-head.”

“I saw you’re doing a half hour head-to-head with us. I can’t wait to finally beat your main show head-to-head. It’s been a long time coming. See you next Friday for #AEWRampageon @AEWonTNT”

Khan followed up the tweet with another saying that the card that week’s Rampage is “straight fire.”
