Tony Khan To Make Important AEW Announcement
Tony Khan has some news.
Following All Out, it was revealed that Tony Khan will have an “important” announcement on the upcoming edition of Dynamite. However, there’s no word on what Khan might be announcing.
The news comes as calls continue to grow for AEW to introduce a women’s Continental Classic tournament. During a recent interview, Khan suggested that a women’s tournament would be “something very interesting” and something he remains open to.
He added that the decision to run the tournament will likely depend on the injury situation in the division.
In the only match currently announced for Dynamite, Kazuchika Okada will team with Hechicero and Konosuke Takeshita to face Mark Briscoe, Hologram, and a mystery partner.
Brody King Heaps Praise On Tony Khan
During the All Out post-show press conference, Brody King praised Tony Khan for allowing AEW stars to be themselves without fear of repercussions. King explained that it’s important to be able to “express your voice” using whatever platform is available.
Ahead of All Out, Khan said he wanted talents to be their “authentic selves” while working for the company. He said that while the wrestling will always be front and centre on his shows, he won’t put restrictions on AEW performers.
Elsewhere during the press conference, Tony Khan revealed that he could make afternoon pay-per-views permanent after receiving a lot of positive feedback. Khan said that the change in “something to think about” while discussing the positive impact it’s had on fans in the United Kingdom.
