Tony Khan Would’ve Signed Ex-Champion To Rub WWE’s Nose In It
One wrestling veteran thinks Tony Khan would have jumped at the chance to sign one star simply to rub WWE’s nose in it.
The wrestling world was shocked when R-Truth revealed his time in WWE was coming to an end as his contract was not being renewed. That led to even more surprise when R-Truth made his quick return at Money In The Bank, where he took out John Cena.
It later emerged that Nick Khan intervened and was instrumental in bringing R-Truth back into the fold, albeit with a twist. The fun-loving goofball WWE fans have known for the past 13 years is now gone, and a serious, respect-hunting Ron Killings is taking the company by storm.
But it could have all been so very different if WWE simply let R-Truth go as originally planned.
Was Tony Khan Ready To Sign Ron Killings?
Speaking on The Brand, former WWE star Al Snow thinks Tony Khan would have jumped at the opportunity to sign the former World Tag Team Champion:
The one person that I know would have jumped on board and signed him in a heartbeat would have been Tony Khan. He would have snapped him right up and would have loved to have taken Truth away, which, just for Truth, is a tremendous benefit. I mean, at the end of the day, out of all of this, he won. He gets to continue to have a career and to continue to be in a spot where he continues to make more money.
Tony Khan would have picked him up just basically to rub WWE’s nose in it and he would have gotten a ton of money from Tony Khan to sign, more than what he would have drawn.
Ron Killings and John Cena are set to claim a piece of obscure WWE history as they get ready to face each other once again on the next edition of SmackDown.
