Tony Khan Selling Injury After Brutal AEW Attack
Tony Khan was attacked for the first time in AEW on Dynamite and he was selling his injuries even when no fans could see him.
On Dynamite in Jacksonville, The Young Bucks used their position as EVPs to broker a meeting between Tony Khan and Jack Perry so the AEW boss could officially reinstate Perry to the company but suspicions should have been raised when that meeting took place in the ring.
After Perry and Tony Khan shook hands on the deal, Perry raised Khan’s hand before delivering a vicious microphone shot into Khan’s gut. The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada raced to the ring wondering what Perry was thinking before The Bucks hoisted Khan up for the recently re-named TK Driver.
The Elite were eventually shouted out of the ring by referees and after they left, many stars of the AEW roster came to the ring showing concern for their boss. Among those who appeared in the ring was Khan’s father Shad Khan. Khan looked concerned for his son as the show went off the air.
Tony Khan Wearing Neck Brace After AEW Dynamite Attack
Now Fightful Select has reported that Tony Khan is selling the injuries he suffered at the hands of The Elite, even on a closed set. Dynamite saw Chuck Taylor side with Orange Cassidy rather than Trent Beretta leading to the complete collapse of Best Friends. As a result, a Parking Lot Brawl was made for Rampage pitting Beretta and Taylor against each other.
That match was filmed following Dynamite and in the aftermath of his attack Tony Khan was selling his injuries and sported a neck brace even though it was a closed set and no fans were on hand. There were those in AEW wondering if Khan would wear the neck brace during any TV appearances related to the upcoming NFL Draft.
