Tony Khan Says All He Can About CM Punk In WWE

CM Punk Tony Khan

Tony Khan has said as much as he possibly could when asked about CM Punk’s return to WWE – and it’s not very much at all.

Tony Khan fired CM Punk in early September 2023 after Punk’s physical altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All In. That came less than a year after Punk had a backstage fight with The Elite at All Out, after which all involved were suspended. CM Punk only returned to AEW in June 2023 having missed nine months of action due to injury – the second one of his two-year run in the company.

Speaking in an interview with BBC West Midlands about the AEW All In 2024 ticket sale beginning on December 1st, Tony Khan was inevitably asked about CM Punk’s return to WWE, and said he can’t legally discuss the former AEW Champion:

Can’t talk about that nor do I think it’s the time or the place. But I appreciate you asking and I am really excited about AEW All In at Wembley Stadium. Not to dodge or duck your question, it’s just not something I can legally talk about.

Have Tony Khan & CM Punk Signed NDAs?

It has never previously been revealed if Tony Khan or CM Punk signed a non-disclosure agreement when Punk was fired by AEW. It was believed that prior to his firing, Punk and The Elite had agreed not to make disparaging remarks about each other publicly.

It is also not known if that agreement was overseen by AEW’s now apparently former Chief Legal Officer Megha Parekh. Parekh is believed to have left her duties in AEW to return to focusing on the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.
