Tony Khan Reveals Will Ospreay’s AEW Return Timeline
Tony Khan has given an exciting update on Will Ospreay.
Ahead of Forbidden Door, Will Ospreay announced that he needed surgery to repair a serious neck injury. After discussing the issues on Dynamite a month earlier, he confirmed that he’d for a “few” herniated discs which were pressing on his spinal cord, causing nerve issues.
Despite the severity of the injury, the British star wrestled in a Lights Out Steel Cage match at Forbidden Door in London, England. In the days before the match, he assured fans that his involvement wasn’t as risky as it appeared, and he was under the care of several top doctors and medical professionals.
In September, Ospreay confirmed that he’d undergone surgery and had begun his rehabilitation.
When Is Will Ospreay Returning
During a new interview with Ariel Helwani, Tony Khan revealed that Ospreay is on track to return in the first half of 2026. Crucially, this would see him back in the ring before AEW heads back to Wembley Stadium for All In on August 30.
“Will Ospreay’s gonna be back with AEW, I think, hopefully earlier next year. I can’t say exactly when but it’ll be next year, and I hope it’ll be in the first half of next year…”
Earlier in 2025, Will Ospreay said that he’d love to headline All In 2026 with Kenny Omega.
