Tony Khan Praised For Making AEW First Class

Tony Khan AEW

Tony Khan has received some praise from a wrestling legend who believes he’s made AEW into a first-class outfit.

AEW Dynamite recently saw WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Steamboat return to the company, where he was supposed to appear alongside Ric Flair. Flair ended up missing the show, leaving Steamboat all alone when he was confronted by FTR. FTR attempted to drop The Dragon with a spike piledriver, but they were chased off by AEW World Tag Team Champions Brodido.

Tony Khan Praised By Ricky Steamboat

Speaking to Bill Apter, Ricky Steamboat gave his honest assessment of AEW and the kind of company Tony Khan has shaped it into:

The first class operation, I think. I know Tony Khan does a lot for the boys. His father owns the Jacksonville Jags. When I first talked to Tony a few years back, he said that he wanted of the wrestlers like the way his dad does football players.

That is with any kind of retirement plans or hospitalization coverage and stuff like that. As you know, Bill, we never had any of that. Just talking to a few of the wrestlers backstage, they say, ‘yeah, he takes care of us.’ It’s real good. I do question some of the storylines that they like to you know, bring forward. Despite his kind words about Tony Khan, it seems Steamboat was not a huge fan of the bloody and brutal women’s WarGames match.
