Tony Khan Reveals Plans For Golf-Themed AEW Dynamite
Tony Khan wants to host another AEW special.
AEW boss Tony Khan has regularly embraced the chance to hold special crossover editions of Dynamite and Collision, and it seems he’s got his eye on one more.
During a new appearance on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox, Khan said he wants to hold a charity golf tournament and thinks it could bring new fans to pro wrestling. This would then lead into a “Fairway To Heaven” special edition of Dynamite.
“I had this amazing idea. I really wanted to do something I think would be for a great cause, and it’s a charity golf tournament. It would be great for wrestling and great for wrestling fans. It would hopefully bring new fans to golf and wrestling. There is more of a crossover than people realize within the sports.
I want to do a charity golf tournament called Fairway to Heaven and have wrestlers and golfers and people participate for charity at Fairway to Heaven and then do Dyamite in the same city or region called Fairway to Hell. I think it’d be awesome.”
Tony Khan Names Biggest AEW Regret
During the same interview, Tony Khan was asked about his biggest regret since launching AEW in 2019. In response, he admitted that he wished he could have found a way to get Jay Briscoe onto Dynamite before the star’s untimely passing in January 2023.
At the time, the Briscoes were banned from appearing on television by TV bosses due to homophobic remarks made years earlier.
Khan recalled fighting really hard to get the ban lifted, revealing that he even brought Jay and Mark to several tapings in the hope he could use them.
