Tony Khan Made Personal Plea For AEW Star To Appear At Grand Slam
Tony Khan had to make an appeal on behalf of one AEW star for them to appear at Grand Slam Mexico.
AEW Grand Slam Mexico saw Mercedes Mone claim yet more championship gold ahead of her AEW Women’s World Title match at All In Texas against Timeless Toni Storm.
The show was headlined by Jon Moxley teaming with Wheeler Yuta, The Young Bucks, and Beast Mortos as they defeated Swerve Strickland, Will Ospreay, and The Opps. After the bout, Hangman Adam Page came to Strickland’s rescue as he was being surrounded by Moxley’s crew and stood tall as Moxley and his Death Riders backed off. That was after Page hit Matthew Jackson with a Buckshot Lariat that was originally meant for Moxley.
Tony Khan Asked For Beast Mortos’ Arena Mexico Return
Fightful Español reported that Tony Khan personally asked Salvador Lutteroth Lomeli, the CMLL CEO, and asked that Beast Mortos be allowed to perform at AEW Grand Slam Mexico, as Cash Wheeler and Claudio Castagnoli couldn’t compete on the show.
This request was granted, and so Beast Mortos was able to compete in Arena Mexico for the first time in 14 years. Mortos last wrestled in Arena Mexico back in 2011 before he made the jump from CMLL to their rival promotion AAA.
Beast Mortos recently revealed he’s in a relationship with a major AEW star.
