Tony Khan Names One AEW Stunt That Went Too Far

AEW Tony Khan

Tony Khan thinks a top AEW star once went too far with a “brutal” bump.

Darby Allin has never met a risk he didn’t want to take. This has seen the star thrown down flights of stairs, set on fire, sent crashing through panes of glass, and much more.

However, he recently revealed that one stunt was personally turned down by Tony Khan.

But according to Khan, there was one insane moment that made it to air that he regrets.

Tony Khan Gives Take On Darby Allin’s Risk-Taking

During an appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show, Tony Khan discussed Darby Allin’s role in AEW and his apparent insatiable desire to take risks. He began by stating that Allin is a brilliant wrestler, and the risks he takes are more calculated than they might initially appear.

“I think he’s really a brilliant wrestler, and also, he takes these chances, and I think normally they’re very calculated chances,”

However, he admitted that there was one occasion where he believed Allin took things too far.

“The one that I thought was too far, and I would say this to him, and have said this to him 100 times, is in Sting’s last match with the glass in Greensboro off the ladder through the glass.

That was so much. That was the one where I thought maybe it was too much, and it wasn’t exactly the way it was described – it was pretty brutal.”

Khan recalled being somewhat torn after the match, as while he felt Allin had overstepped the mark, the event was the biggest in company history.

“That was the one after where I said, ‘I think you’re so brilliant about these chances, but this is the first time ever where I thought probably it was too much. But it was also the greatest night in the history of the promotion, and he took a huge risk, and it worked out.”

Next up for Darby Allin is a match with PAC at Full Gear after the Death Riders star set Allin on fire at Blood & Guts.
