Tony Khan Shares Thoughts On Mercedes Mone In AEW
Following a huge night for AEW at Revolution in San Francisco, Tony Khan has shared his thoughts on Mercedes Mone turning up in his company.
Mercedes Mone turned the wrestling world upside down when she made her New Japan Pro Wrestling debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January. She declared her intention to challenge KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship and in February she did just that, defeating KAIRI to win the title.
The former Sasha Banks’ wrestling future remains a hot topic and Tony Khan was asked about the possibility of Mercedes Mone competing in AEW following Revolution at the post-show media scrum:
“I have a ton of respect for the IWGP Women’s World Champion, she’s a tremendous wrestler. I wouldn’t want to comment on discussions I’ve had with any wrestler who is a free agent, in particular, a wrestler who is a champion of one of our partners. A ton of respect for that great wrestler and somebody that any wrestling company would be very fortunate to have wrestling for them.”
AEW’s women’s division is in open civil war after Ruby Soho finally revealed her allegiance to Saraya and Toni Storm in their battle against the company’s original stars.
