Tony Khan Given Huge Compliment By Popular AEW Champion
Tony Khan is the “nicest f’n guy ever,” according to one of the biggest stars in AEW.
As the Owner, CEO, GM, and head booker for AEW, Tony Khan has his share of critics, but there are also a lot of people who like him.
Regardless of personal opinions, the fact is that AEW has given dozens of wrestlers and other staff members a place to work in pro wrestling and make a good living outside of WWE.
Over the past six years, AEW has built a solid fan base that regularly watches their TV shows, Dynamite and Collision, as well as their PPVs, which include AEW All Out on September 20th in Toronto.
The greatest women’s wrestler in AEW history is arguably Toni Storm, who is the current Women’s World Champion, and she’s also held the title the most, having held the title four times for over 635 days.
During an interview with The Sandman Podcast, Toni Storm spoke about working for Tony Khan.
“Well, I’m not really sure on how he’s actually perceived. I assume everyone adores him. He’s like the nicest f**king guy ever with like the best of intentions.
He just loves wrestling so much. I just, I love the guy. I f**king love the guy. He’s the best and he works so hard. He’s obsessed with this s**t. He’s like so into it.
Yeah, it’s literally just, if we didn’t have him…if he just wakes up tomorrow and is like, I don’t like wrestling anymore. It’s like, all right. No one loves it like he does.”
Tony Khan Has His Reasons For Announcing AEW Matches On Certain Days
On social media, Tony Khan likes to let AEW fans know what matches are going to take place on Dynamite and Collision. Usually, those announcements happen on the days of the show.
Recently, Tony Khan explained why he makes announcements for Dynamite on Wednesdays, rather than other days.
“A lot of times, wrestling companies will make some announcements on the day of the show because they get engagement. It’s a way to get you talking about the show, get you interested in the show.”
“Typically, those match announcements are the most engagement you’re gonna get on the day of the show. I think they do very, very well.”
