Tony Khan Teases New Way For Fans To Support AEW
Tony Khan has suggested that perhaps there will be another way for AEW fans to follow the company.
The main ways that fans follow AEW these days are by watching the TV shows, the PPV shows, visiting the website, and of course, the many social media pages like X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and more.
AEW’s Owner, CEO, GM & Head of Creative Tony Khan uses social media heavily, such as this week when he announced matches for AEW Dynamite on April 9th, like Swerve Strickland vs. Pac, Kris Statlander vs. Thunder Rosa, and others.
A lot of people in today’s world have many apps on their phones, but as of this moment, AEW doesn’t have an app, even though they have been a company for over six years.
Tony Khan Considers An AEW App A “Priority”
While speaking during the post-AEW Dynasty media scrum, Tony Khan called building an AEW App is something the company plans on doing.
“Certainly, that is a priority for us. It’s definitely something that….our media rights agreement has grown, evolved, and changed. There are things we have the ability to do that, contractually, I didn’t have the ability to do a couple of months ago. I’m very excited about that.
We’re developing and adding a lot of things in AEW in 2025, a lot of firsts this year for us. It’s definitely something we’re working on and thinking about. Now, there are things we can do with an app that we might not have been able to do a few months ago.”
When WWE launched their app many years ago, they plugged it heavily, but it is not mentioned on television anymore.
At the same press conference, Tony Khan also confirmed injuries to some big name AEW stars like Orange Cassidy and Jay White.
The next AEW PPV is Double or Nothing on May 25th.
