Tony Khan Makes Huge AEW Announcement

AEW’s boss, Tony Khan, made a major AEW announcement on Dynamite.

At the AEW All Out PPV on Saturday in Toronto, it was announced that AEW’s Owner, CEO & GM Tony Khan would have a big announcement on Dynamite. In past years, the AEW boss has made big announcements, but was often criticized for them not being as significant.

Due to Khan’s past reputation for making announcements that weren’t particularly significant, there was anticipation about what this announcement would be.

On AEW Dynamite in Pittsburgh, AEW Founder and President Tony Khan was shown backstage with a big announcement. Tony said that this is truly where the best wrestle. Tony said that he’s proud of the women’s division. Tony said that coming very soon, they will crown the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Championships. Tony called for Renee Paquette to show the new titles.

The new Women’s World Titles were displayed for the fans, and the fans cheered.

They did not specify when the first AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions will be crowned, but it will happen soon.

Tony Khan May Make A Change To AEW’s PPV Schedule

The AEW All Out PPV started at 3 p.m. ET in part because WWE Wrestlepalooza took place that evening. The early start time ended up being something that many fans appreciated, especially those in Europe, as it meant the show began in primetime (8 p.m. in the UK) instead of starting at 1 a.m. or later.

At the post-All Out press conference, Tony Khan discussed how AEW could make afternoon shows a regular occurrence in the future.

“It’s definitely something to think about, especially on Saturdays with the way the schedule works and what we’re doing. I do think there is something to it,” Khan said. “It’d be something to consider on some of the Sundays. It’s been tremendous for three straight pay-per-views. It’s something I would take into consideration.”

“It’s the third straight pay-per-view with an early start time on the East Coast and in the prime time in the UK, and we’ve had great results in the UK. That’s a huge consideration to us, and that’s a big part of it. Whether it’s Saturday or Sunday, it’s something to think about.”

For now, the next two AEW PPVs – WrestleDream on October 18th and Full Gear on November 22nd – have 8 p.m. ET start times for the main PPV broadcast.
