Tony Khan Knows Who AEW’s Greatest Star Ever Is
Tony Khan thinks he knows who the greatest wrestler is in AEW’s history.
When Tony Khan launched AEW in January 2019, Jon Moxley was still working for WWE as Dean Ambrose. After a few more months, Moxley let his contract expire and he was gone from WWE.
At AEW Double or Nothing 2019, which was the company’s first PPV, Jon Moxley made his presence felt by attacking Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega to end the show. The rivalry between Moxley and Omega was arguably AEW’s greatest rivalry in the first year of the organization.
Jon Moxley became the AEW World Champion for a record fourth time at the WrestleDream PPV when he defeated his former ally, Bryan Danielson. Moxley is now leading a group known as the Death Riders which consists of Claudio Castagnoli, Pac, Wheeler Yuta, and Marina Shafir.
In the main event of AEW Full Gear, Moxley will defend the AEW World Title against Orange Cassidy, who has also been part of the company since they launched over five years ago.
Jon Moxley Praised By Tony Khan As AEW’s Best
During an interview with CHGO Sports, Tony Khan boldly claimed that Jon Moxley stands above the rest in AEW.
“Jon Moxley is AEW’s greatest star ever. Jon Moxley’s the four-time world champion. At the beginning of the launch of AEW, we ended our first-ever show with Jon Moxley standing atop the poker chips at Double or Nothing, and it’s been that way since.
He’s a four-time champion, he’s a force in AEW, and I really think that this match [against Orange Cassidy] is gonna be an awesome, awesome world title fight.”
Tony Khan and AEW present the Full Gear PPV from Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, November 23rd and fans can watch it on pay-per-view.
