Tony Khan Gives Interesting Comment On Shane McMahon
Tony Khan remains open to speaking to Shane McMahon.
During an episode of the Grilling JR podcast, Conrad Thompson revealed Shane McMahon had reached out to someone on the AEW roster about appearing for the company.
Jim Ross had already said the idea of Shane McMahon in AEW is “so crazy it might work.”
Although he initially distanced himself from the speculation, Tony Khan later said Shane McMahon is always welcome in AEW. In a somewhat hilarious twist, Mercedes Mone then bumped into McMahon at the airport when she was making her way home from Forbidden Door.
Tony Khan Gives Thoughts On “Interesting” Shane McMahon Rumour
During an appearance on Maggie & Perloff, Khan was again asked about the prospect of McMahon becoming All Elite. Khan said it was an “interesting rumour,” reiterating that McMahon is welcome to drop in on AEW any time.
“Shane McMahon is somebody that I’ve never met, but he has a lot of experience in wrestling and a lot friends in AEW. I have never really had any conversations with him or talked to him ever. I know he ran into Mercedes Mone after Forbidden Door, which is a cool coincidence.
I have never met him. I’d be open to talking to him, and he’s welcome to stop by at any time. I know that’s an interesting rumor. There have been all kinds of interesting people in wrestling to come into AEW and walk through that Forbidden Door. This might be, if it ever happens, one of the more shocking ones. Even though I’ve never talked to him, he seems like a really nice guy,”
Shane McMahon has remained away from the wrestling industry since tearing his quadriceps in an impromptu match against The Miz at WrestleMania 39.
