Legendary Wrestler Praises Tony Khan For How He Treats AEW Talent

AEW Tony Khan talk

Tony Khan is generally viewed as a more hands-on and collaborative leader in his approach to AEW talent management.

Khan is known for fostering a creative environment where wrestlers have more input into their characters, storylines, and match styles.

He emphasizes treating talent with respect, listening to their feedback, and giving them flexibility to express themselves, which his talents appreciate.

WWE legend and Hall of Famer Ric Flair has also worked for Tony Khan. He’s been making special appearances in AEW since 2023.

In an exclusive interview with Casino Beats, The Nature Boy was asked what it was like working with Khan. Flair had nothing but praise for the AEW President.

“Tony Khan is a really great guy. The guys over in AEW are great. Wrestling is in a good place right now. I can’t say enough good things about him.

He is fantastic, and he is just a total gentleman, and I think he legitimately cares about everybody. They’re not just a number to him.

I think he legitimately cares about everybody that works for him.” [H/ T Casino Beats]

Why Did Tony Khan Strip Hangman Page Of AEW World Championship?

Hangman Adam Page lost the AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe in a steel cage match at AEW Full Gear in Newark, New Jersey, on November 22.

Tony Khan stripped Page of the title because he no longer wanted him as champion.

The AEW CEO felt that Page had reached a creative dead end in his storyline.

Therefore, he made the decision to take the belt off Hangman to open up fresh opportunities, generate more interest, and create new storytelling avenues within AEW.

“Tony made this call about a month ago. About a month ago, he said, ‘I’m gonna take the belt off Hangman.’ Yes, they hit a dead end with Hangman, but it was self-inflicted.”

“It was literally a self-inflicted problem and a self-imposed problem. At the same time, he found himself a month out from the pay-per-view thinking, ‘I don’t really have anywhere else to go given the current lay of the land in my promotion.’”

“He made the call a month before the pay-per-view. He said, ‘I’m going to take the belt off of him because this is the lane I’m going to go to generate more interest and directions for storytelling purposes.’

That’s the choice he made, and that’s basically why he took the belt off Hangman Page.” H/T Ringside News
