Tony Khan Addresses Feud With WWE Hall Of Famer
Tony Khan says one WWE Hall of Famer’s jabs at AEW aren’t rational or logical.
Despite originally being on good terms in AEW’s early years, the relationship between Tony Khan and Eric Bischoff has broken down in spectacular fashion. The days when Bischoff appeared on Dynamite now seem a million miles away as he continues to vent his frustration with Khan and AEW on social media and his podcasts.
Not that Khan has presented a shy and retiring front, repeatedly hitting back at the former WCW boss when he feels the criticism goes too far.
During an appearance on K&C Masterpiece, Khan was asked why he no longer gets on with Bischoff.
“It’s an interesting question. There haven’t been that many wrestling companies that have risen to international prominance. There aren’t that many wrestling companies in modern history that have sold tens of thousands of tickets and hundreds of thousands pay-per-views. In that sense, Eric and I do have something in common. I do respect his accomplishments.
He just has a show, a podcast, that is largely devoted to taking shots at us and a lot of it isn’t rational or logical or truthful. I don’t think those things seem to matter to him anymore. I do respect what he accomplished with WCW. It was a great company. In that sense, I do respect him.
We’re on TNT and TBS, that’s something I have in common with Eric, there aren’t a lot of people that produced a lot of wrestling shows on TBS and TNT. That’s one thing we do have in common,”
Tony Khan Looking To Expand AEW Roster
Despite already housing several of the best wrestlers on the planet, Tony Khan is reportedly looking to expand the AEW roster even further.
The report from Dave Meltzer noted that AEW is keeping a close eye on those in WWE whose contracts are coming up, and will make a move if the opportunity presents itself.
