Tony Khan Excited About Particular Aspect Of AEW Storyline
Tony Khan is excited about a storyline featuring some of AEW’s biggest names.
As the AEW President, CEO, General Manager, Executive Producer, and Head of Creative, Tony Khan oversees a lot of things in the company. It is up to Tony to decide what wrestlers are featured on television and in high-profile matches on pay-per-views.
The critics of Tony Khan will say he doesn’t deserve to be in that kind of position, but he created the company along with his father, so he can essentially do what he wants.
A current storyline on AEW programming has seen Jon Moxley become the AEW World Champion who claims to have problems with the company he works for. Moxley’s Death Riders group consists of Claudio Castagnoli, Pac, Marina Shafir, and Wheeler Yuta. Together, they have injured many people on the roster and have had little results.
There was finally a change on the December 4th edition of AEW Dynamite when Orange Cassidy, Jay White, and “Hangman” Adam Page fought back against Moxley and his group. Fans in the arena applauded it while viewers were likely happy about it as well.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Tony Khan is a big fan of the storyline that he booked on Dynamite, which he spoke about in an interview with Sports Guys Talking Wrestling.
“I’m really excited about having the top stars in AEW, all gunning for the championship. I don’t think they’re all aligned with each other, but they’re all aligned in that they want to take the championship from Jon Moxley, and we saw the fans chanting ‘AEW’ as Hangman Page, Jay White, and Orange Cassidy teed off on the champion. I thought that was awesome.”
Tony Khan Praises Jon Moxley As AEW’s Biggest Name Ever
Jon Moxley is the only four-time AEW World Champion and many people would say he has been the MVP of the company in their first five years as an organization. Khan went on to praise Moxley even further.
“That’s three of the biggest names in AEW, chasing possibly the biggest name ever in AEW, the greatest champion in our history, John Moxley, the four-time World Champion of AEW, the six-time World Champion, the only man ever to hold the AEW, WWE, and IWGP World Championships.
Jon Moxley is a great wrestler, a great champion, but he is definitely the object of pursuit from some of the biggest stars in AEW and I think it’s really exciting what’s happening every week on Wednesday night, Dynamite on TBS and on TNT every weekend, on AEW with the great stars chasing the Death Riders.”
The good mood that Tony Khan is in will likely continue since ticket sales for AEW All In Texas have already broken a record for the company just days after tickets went on sale.
