Tony Khan Teases Signing Recently Departed WWE Star
Tony Khan is seemingly interested in signing an ex-WWE star.
Karrion Kross left WWE on August 10 after his contract with the company expired. He was given a new offer, but when he asked the company to provide a valuation of his contract, they rescinded the offer. Meanwhile, his wife Scarlett didn’t even receive one.
Kross has been performing on the independent circuit, under the ring name Killer Kross, since he departed from the Stamford-based company. In fact, in a recent interview, he revealed that he and Scarlett are getting paid more than they ever made in the Triple H-led wrestling promotion.
After Kross left WWE, many fans and critics alike believed that he might end up in WWE’s rival promotion, AEW. But that hasn’t happened yet. However, there is still a high chance Kross might join the AEW roster, as the AEW president himself is interested in him.
Tony Khan Wants To Reconnect With Karrion Kross
In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, AEW head honcho Tony Khan was asked about signing Karrion Kross. Khan revealed he hadn’t connected with the star in a long time. But he likes the idea of having Kross in his locker room and would love to reconnect with the ex-WWE star. This is what he said:
“I have not spoken to him in many, many years.”
“That’s interesting. I’m not sure. I like Killer Kross. It’d be interesting at some point to talk to him again. It’s been a long time since I’ve talked to him.”
“Darby left early to go do that match with Killer Kross, which was great that he was able to do both things. I didn’t get to see him that night. That probably would have been a great chance to reconnect with him.”
“I think he’s tremendous… It would definitely be worth reconnecting.”
