Tony Khan Confirms Return Of AEW Special Show

AEW Tony Khan

Tony Khan has confirmed that a successful AEW show from 2025 will return in 2026.

While speaking recently on the Q101 podcast, the All Elite Wrestling President discussed the success and return of Grand Slam Mexico.

The event, which took place in Mexico City, Mexico, in June 2025, was a massive success, with Tony Khan claiming that he would like to run it back while also praising his company’s partnership with Mexican Lucha Libre promotion CMLL.

100%. I definitely want to do Grand Slam Mexico again and we have amazing partners in CMLL, so I would want to work with them. Grand Slam Mexico will be back in 2026 and I’m just pleased that they’ll have us. I can’t wait to go back.

We had a great experience at Arena Mexico in Mexico City, there are other great cities in Mexico that we’d like to visit. That’s something that I’d hope to be able to do and we do have the great pleasure of partnering with CMLL and them hosting us in their territory and their venues.

It’s an honor and I love working with Salvador and everybody at CMLL, they’re having a great year and it’s been great with AEW and CMLL working together this year. [H/T: Fightful]

Tony Khan Breaks His Silence About Adam Cole’s Appearance During Worlds End

At All In: Texas in July, Adam Cole was forced to relinquish his TNT Championship after being deemed unfit to compete.

During the pay-per-view, Cole came out and addressed the audience, apologizing to them while also stating that he didn’t know whether it was a final goodbye.

Tony Khan later announced a 4-way match to determine the new TNT Champion.

At Worlds End, the 36-year-old made an apperance via satellite to predict the winners of the Continental Classic tournament.

Addressing Cole’s apperance after the show, Tony Khan said that he had no update about Cole’s health, but knew that he was doing well.

We love him, and he’s a great star here and absolutely, like he said, when he spoke earlier, we want Adam Cole to be involved in AEW, and I don’t have any health updates other than to say you can see he’s doing well and he’s excited about AEW.
