The Elite and The Blackpool Combat Club are set to go to war inside Blood & Guts and now Tony Khan has indicated that he’s trying to get an ex-WWE star inside the cage.
The war between The Elite and The BCC has raged on for months now but it looks like on July 19th it could come to a grizzly end with the factions set to go to war in the double-ring steel cage match.
Given that there is a need for both the Blackpool Combat Club and The Elite to each have a mystery partner going into Blood & Guts, one fan took to social media to persuade Tony Khan to get Chris Hero inside the cage. Khan’s response got people talking as he noted he was trying to get Hero to compete in some fashion:
“I’m chipping away on him.”
Chris Hero was known as Kassius Ohno during his time in WWE where he competed on the NXT brand but he is best known for his work on the independent scene and in Ring of Honor where he just so happened to win the ROH Tag Team Championship with Claudio Castagnoli – now of the BCC.
Chris Hero has not competed in the ring since his stint in NXT UK with his last match coming in March 2020, just before the global pandemic took hold.
The Elite’s mystery partner meanwhile seems to be less of a puzzler given Kenny Omega’s recent tease following Dynamite.
