Tony Khan Breaks Silence On Shock AEW Title Switch
Tony Khan has congratulated his new AEW World Tag Team Champions after a career-defining night on Dynamite.
Private Party might have lost to The Young Bucks at WrestleDream but found themselves with another title shot at Fright Night Dynamite, however, this time if Private Party lost, they’d split up forever.
A wild match ensued with Zay spilling blood while Quen was dropped with a tombstone by The Elite’s Kazuchika Okada. However, a never-say-die spirit allowed Private Party to nail Nicholas Jackson with Gin and Juice to win the AEW Tag Team Championship for the very first time. In an uncharacteristic display of respect, The Bucks handed over the title belts to the new champions.
Tony Khan Thanks New AEW Tag Team Champions
Taking to social media, AEW boss Tony Khan celebrated Private Party’s major win and claimed that it was over five years in the making:
Congratulations again and thank you to the new AEW World Tag Team Champions @ZayKassidy + @Marq_Quen
Private Party! Tonight was over 5 years in the making! Tonight was an incredible night of @AEWonTV, and Private Party vs @youngbucks was a classic #AEWDynamite match once again!

Tony Khan might have more issues to face with The Young Bucks as they were later seen leaving the arena noting that the working environment was too chaotic and they’d be working from home. This was after The Bucks and Brandon Cutler appeared to be frantically shredding documents in The Elite’s locker room.
