Tony Khan Beats WWE To Sign Nephew Of Wrestling Legend

Tony Khan AEW Triple H WWE

Tony Khan has made another addition to the AEW roster.

On May 11th, Tommy Billington stepped into an AEW ring for the first time. Although he impressed fans with his performance Billington — the nephew of the Dynamite Kid, came up short against Dax Harwood, before suffering another defeat Konosuke Takeshita on July 10th.

It’s now been reported by Fightful Select that those performances were enough to secure a contract with AEW. According to talent close to the British star, he’s now All Elite, although there are no details available about the exact nature of the deal.

Interestingly, talent also claimed there was interest from NXT, but that came to nothing.

When Fightful asked about the status of Billington’s brother and partner in the Billington Bulldogs, Mark, it was noted that he suffered an injury back in December.

In a recent interview, Tommy Billington revealed he only used the “Dynamite Kid” name at the urging of Bret Hart.

Tony Khan Drops AEW Tease

Ahead of AEW Collision, Tony Khan teased that “the most important announcement in AEW history is looming large.”

Many believe the announcement will be a new media rights deal with Warner Bros Discovery after Khan met with WBD boss David Zaslav in Paris during the Olympics.
