Tony Khan Looking To Avoid “Physical Altercations” In AEW
Tony Khan has revealed he is keen to avoid any further physical confrontations in AEW.
The AEW President and CEO was brutally assaulted at the end of the 24th April edition of AEW Dynamite, leaving the 41 year-old requiring a neck brace.
Khan was in the squared circle to meet the returning Jack Perry and all appeared well following a handshake before Perry shockingly attacked his boss.
The Elite’s Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada made their way to the ring to join in with the attack, ultimately flooring Khan with a TK Driver.
The jaw dropping scenes concluded with Khan’s father, Shad Khan, arriving in the ring to check on his fallen son as the show went off the air.
Despite there being a rich history of wrestling owners and promoters stepping into the ring to take matters into their own hands, Khan revealed in a recent chat with ‘amNY‘ that he had absolutely no plans to do so in the future:
“I didn’t step into the ring voluntarily. I would hope to avoid such physical altercations in the future.”
Tony Khan Refuses To Rule Out WWE Collaboration
Working relationships with other major organisations is something that Tony Khan has built a reputation for since launching AEW. The company has worked closely with the likes of CMLL and New Japan Pro Wrestling in recent years, including holding the annual ‘Forbidden Door’ pay-per-view.
