In late September, several areas of the United States were battered by Hurricane Helene. The hurricane was the deadliest mainland storm since Hurricane Katrina in 2005 which killed more than 1,800 people.

Although the storm’s impact was felt in areas of Florida, Virginia, Georgia, and South Carolina, it was North Carolina that was hardest hit with the city of Asheville bearing the brunt of the devastation.

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Asheville resident Adam Copeland discussed the crisis, revealing that AEW boss Tony Khan has been doing what he can to help.

And I’m sure he wouldn’t ever want me to tell this but, they needed some stealth Starlinks instead of I guess the big ones that Elon Musk sent aren’t necessarily good for getting out in the mountains. With these things and drones over top to be able to start locating people.

So I reached out to Tony Khan, and guess who sent out a bunch of stealth Starlinks to the Asheville Police Department? I’ll say it because, you know…

He’s been awesome throughout this whole thing. Just throwing help wherever he can and I mean, so many people have been but, when you get an area that can’t get their hands on Starlinks and these particular ones, it’s like, okay, we gotta reach outside here and you know, I just thought of him, and sure enough, he came through.

Dax Harwood Praises Tony Khan

Reacting to the quotes from Copeland on social media, Dax Harwood noted that Khan had gone above and beyond to help.

It took one ask. Tony didn’t hesitate and has helped beyond this.

You can find details of the GoFundMe set up by Harwood’s tag team partner Cash Wheeler here. Tony Khan donated $10,000 to the fund.

With the effects of Hurricane Helene still being felt, and Hurricane Milton hours away from making landfall in Florida, residents in the affected areas need help and more support more than ever. Additional resources can be found below.
