Tony Khan Announces AEW Star Is All Elite After Probation Period

Tony Khan has confirmed that an AEW wrestler is “All Elite” now after being put on probation.

When an AEW wrestler signs with the company to officially join the roster, the company usually releases a graphic on social media that says the wrestler is All Elite. It is a way for AEW, and specifically the company President Tony Khan, to welcome that wrestler to AEW.

It is something that fans have noticed because if AEW doesn’t do a graphic welcoming a wrestler to the company, fans will question what happened.

The “Toxic Spider” Thekla, a talented Austrian women’s wrestler, debuted in AEW in late May and began wrestling in June. However, AEW didn’t welcome her with an “All Elite” graphic.

On social media, Tony Khan addressed the AEW status of Thekla by officially welcoming her to the roster after a 45-day probation period.

Due to her attack on President @tokada_mh4e + her termination for cause from @we_are_stardom, after her debut June 4 at Fyter Fest #AEWCollision, I placed Thekla on a 45 day probation period before validating her contract. Her probation ended today. @toxic_thekla is All Elite!

What Khan was referring to was Thekla attacking Stardom President Taro Okada before being “fired” by the company, which was a storyline in place because Thekla had actually signed with AEW.

Thekla picked up a big win in a fatal 4-way match on AEW Dynamite this past week thanks to an assist from Julia Hart and Skye Blue. It appears as though Hart, Blue, and Thekla will be a stable in AEW moving forward.

Tony Khan Had Difficult Conversation With Adam Cole About Health Issues

At AEW All In Texas, Adam Cole relinquished the TNT Championship and spoke about how he is uncertain about his future in wrestling. It is believed that Cole is dealing with a concussion issue, which is something he has dealt with in the past.

Tony Khan revealed that Cole came to him to talk about how Cole wasn’t feeling well.

“It was a hard conversation, but I’m glad he told me the truth—that he just didn’t feel well, he was having trouble sleeping, he didn’t feel good, and he was having… just not feeling like it would be a good idea for him to wrestle. And I agreed with that.

I knew that it would be the right thing for Adam Cole—and it was what he wanted to do too—to go out and speak to the fans from his heart and explain that he wouldn’t be able to wrestle. Even though we are all sad we don’t get to see Adam Cole wrestle for a while, hopefully, he will be able to return in some capacity. But definitely, he needs time off after talking to him.”

Following Cole’s announcement, he relinquished the TNT Title and Dustin Rhodes won the TNT Title in a four-way match. It is Dustin’s first singles title win in AEW after signing with the company six years ago.
